क्विड 2015-2019 1.0 AMT RXT रिव्यू
The Renault Kwid has always been one of the best looking small cars around. The 800cc engine sounded underpowered but now the French carmaker has come up with a decently powerful 1.0-litre engine which helps in improving the fun factor in the Kwid. And on top of the increased power, it gets an AMT option as well. Among the variants on offer, the Renault Kwid 1.0 RXT Optional AMT is a perfect trim for someone looking forward to enjoy the ride along with the convenience of the automated manual transmission.
The exterior is almost identical to its 800cc-powered cousin except for the 1.0 decals on its sides and the silver-coloured ORVMs. The AMT carries an Easy-R badging at the rear. It continues to boast the butch and rugged appeal to it. Its a giant leap in terms of styling when compared to the conventional A-segments hatches in the Indian market.
The interior too is exactly the same as its stock cousin, with the only difference being the absence of a gear stick. Instead, Renault has provided a storage space on its spot. The boot size too remains the same at 300-litres.
Powered by the powerful 1.0-litre, it generates peak power of 68PS@5500rpm and 91Nm@4250rpm of torque. This is linked to a five-speed automated manual transmission. A shiny rotary dial with three positions Neutral, Reverse and Drive - is fitted next to the power window switches on the centre console. The gears can be changed by using this rotary knob.
Since its based on the top-end version of the Kwid, it gets all the features available in the RXT version, which include a touchscreen audio system with navigation, a digital speedometer, air-conditioning and front two power windows.
