Mahindra XUV500 - Best SUV Under Rs. 20 lakhs, Go For It

It's almost about 10 years I have been driving the cars. Before having the new Mahindra XUV500, on the ownership side, I have tried cars like Hyundai Santro, Toyota Etios and Maruti Celerio AMT. So, when we started to search for an SUV almost 4 months back, Toyota Fortuner was at the topmost priority due to its tough body shell, premium interiors and butch-like looks but the concern was the budget. Another option for us was the Mahindra XUV 500 which was under our budget and that ticks on all the primary requirements that we shortlisted. And the most important reason was that XUV500 facelift was just launched at that time, so it was a lucky opportunity for us. So we finally made our mind and decided to go for XUV500. My father and I finally got to test drive the SUV and really satisfied with the car, we booked the vehicle without any further delay. Finally, after 3 weeks we got our new Mahindra XUV 500. Man, I must say this vehicle has the strong road presence I understood it when I first drove the car. It grabs eyeballs whenever it goes. Outer looks of the Mahindra XUV 500 is quite appealing, build quality is good while the fit and finish is excellent. The car gets new grille flanked by projector headlamps with LED DRLs. The wraparound taillights have replaced the earlier vertically stacked lights. Inner quality of the vehicle has been considerably increased to compete against the rivals such as Jeep Compass and Tata Hexa. The car gets updated infotainment with Arkamys sound system which I personally liked very much. Moreover, the black dashboard and tan seats have certainly uplifted the premiumness. Some of the negative points I see in the car is that the third row is not that comfortable with less legroom and low headroom for the passenger. Secondly, the quality of some of the switches is not up to the mark but these faults can be ignored. I haven?t tried the car much on off-roads but the overall performance seems to be good. From my experience, I can say that Mahindra XUV 500 is the perfect bet to go for in 20 lakh segment. You are not that power hungry and want to save Rs. 10-12 lakhs as against Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour, this is the car to go for.
