Tata Motors is one of the biggest automobile manufacturers in India has upgraded its existing models and introduced to the auto markets. The company has recently refreshed a total of eight models including one major upgrade in the form of Tata Indigo eCS. This is the flagship compact sedan for Tata Motors in the segment and has been given with some major cosmetic updates. The company has not just refreshed the exterior design of this sedan but also improved its mechanism, which makes it a better performing sedan with great fuel efficiency in the segment. This compact sedan will compete with the best selling Maruti Swift Dzire and newly launched Honda Amaze in its segment. This sedan is made available in several variants out of which Tata indigo eCS VX is the top end diesel trim that comes equipped with a high performance 1.4-litre CR4 diesel engine. The company has refined this CR4 diesel engine and incorporated with a high performance 5-speed gearbox to improve its performance. There is no doubt with such improvements, Tata Indigo eCS is going to lure the Indian car buyers towards placing an order for it. This compact sedan is also expected to come out soon in petrol variants as well, which will provide options for the car buyers to choose according to their needs.

Exteriors:

The all new Tata Indigo eCS VX top end diesel trim is blessed state-of-art design exteriors that makes it look like a premium class sedan in the segment. This new compact sedan comes with a lot of improvement and cosmetic updates outside that will certainly entice the buyers. It has an improved and a rich looking front fascia, while its side profile even better. To begin with the front facade, the design of the head lamps has been changed to the smoked headlamps design and integrated it with turn indicators. While the front radiator grille has been redesigned completely by using a lot of chrome on to it. The company has incorporated a perforated grille with diamond shaped chrome slat with company badging in the middle of grille. There is a chrome strip placed on top of the hood that brings a rich new look to this compact sedan. The side profile of this compact sedan gets body colored OVRMs with blinkers integrated in them. While the wheel arches has been fitted with a stylish 14 inch multi-spoke alloy wheels that gives a sporty look to the side profile. The rear end of this sedan gets a stylish tail lamp cluster with integrated courtesy lights and indicators. There is a chrome strip placed on the boot right above the license plate that completes the premium look of this compact sedan. This compact sedan comes under 4 meter length of 3988mm while it has the width of about 1620mm and height of about 1540mm, which helped it to obtain tax benefits.

Interiors:

The company has completely changed the interiors of this compact sedan and made it look plush and elegant from the inside. The all new Tata Indigo eCS VX gets a new style dual tone interiors along with new design OCTA instrument cluster that gives a premium feel to the occupants inside this sedan. On the other side, the company has incorporated this sedan with an Anti Acoustic chamber that will lift the interior comforts and experiences of the occupants. It also has a four spoke steering wheel that complements this compact sedan's interior. Despite being a compact sedan, the all new Tata Indigo eCS VX offers better space inside . This sedan comes with an impressive wheelbase of about 2450mm that creates apt space inside that can accommodate five passengers with ease. The company has used a premium quality fabric for covering the seats while its central console has been given with premium finish. The steering wheel has been wrapped in leather, which gives a complete look to the plush interior cabin.

Engine and Performance:

Tata Motors has upgraded the engine of this facelifted Tata Indigo eCS in order to make it even powerful and fuel efficient in this segment. The top end Tata Indigo eCS VX gets a refined 1.4-litre, 16-valve based common rail CR4 diesel engine that has a displacing capacity of about 1396cc. This engine has the ability to churn out a superior power of 68.6bhp at 4000rpm and produces a maximum torque output of about 140Nm at 1800 to 3000rpm. Its refined common rail diesel engine has been coupled with a five speed F-Shift (TA65 cable shift) gearbox that contributes for boosting up the performance and power of engine. The company states that the all new Tata Indigo ECS VX has the ability to produce a class leading mileage of about 25 Kmpl, which is quite impressive.

Braking and Handling:

Tata motors has given utmost importance to the braking mechanism of this compact sedan. This Tata Indigo eCS VX trim now gets a superior vacuum assisted independent dual circuit and diagonal split hydraulic brakes through tandem master cylinder braking mechanism. This mechanism assist the ventilated disc fitted to the front wheels and drum brakes fitted to the rear wheels. On the other hand, this compact sedan gets a superior Duo Float suspension system that will enhance the load distribution along the constituent elements for a smooth and comfortable drive. Its front axle has been equipped with an Independent McPherson Strut suspension with Coil spring mechanism while its rear axle has been fitted with independent 3-link McPherson Strut suspension that is assisted by anti-roll bar type of mechanism.

Safety Features:

The company is offering this facelifted compact sedan's top end variant Tata Indigo eCS VX with some top class safety functions to it. This top end compact sedan has been offered with the all new E-OVRMs with third lane visibility, anti lock braking system, central locking, key less entry, LED high mounted stop lamp, collapsible steering, door ajar/seat belt warning and many other such features.

Comfort Features:

There are some of the sophisticated comfort and convenience features incorporated inside this compact sedan that would surely enhance the experience of passengers inside. Its comfort aspects include air conditioner, power assisted steering, front and rear power windows, driver seat one shot power down windows, adjustable front headrest, boot lamp, bottle holder, auto driver assist, remote boot and fuel lid opener, driver seat height adjustment, rear seat armrest and lots of other features.

Pros: Improved interior cabin space, top class comfort features, impressive mileage.
Cons: Expensive price tag, engine sound can be reduced.

    Car For Long Travellers
    This car is for the people who are on wheels and have to travel a lot. If you are looking for comfort and cost effective car then definitely go for it. I own this car for past 4 years and am happy driving it. The fuel efficiency of this car is too good. Interior are ok type and you cannot accept too much from Tata motors. Space is quite good, can easily accommodate 5 full size grown people. Yearly maintenance cost is approx Rs 4000. Service centres are easily within your reach and you get good service from them. Overall I would give this car 3 rating. I m satisfied with the fuel efficiency and comfort of the car. This car is reliable and good for all purpose. You will enjoy this car a lot if purchased. Go for it and take a test drive. This car is really good and affordable. The boot space is awesome. The look is nice. I have driven this car a lot and I enjoy every drive in this car. go for it id you really want to have a good car with cost effectiveness and which will not be a burden in your pocket. Last time I went to Haridwar from Delhi and you will not believe that I drove to nearby tourist spots and my to and fro cost on fuel was just Rs 1000. It is so much cost effective car and so comfortable that you will really enjoy driving this car. Go get one now.

    TATA INDIGO ECS diesel:
    Exterior Very good look. but there are gaps between doors and boday. Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Nice look, good boot space... feel verymuch comfort inside. Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Good pickup..... I got this on sep 2016... . If you put on AC then you cant get that much pickup. Milage i didnt check till date. I have completed 10,000 Km till now. Ride Quality & Handling Superb handling. I like the smoothness of stering. good control over the car. I have gone up to 320km/hr on the cbe-salem highway express. Final Words Good for middle calss. good for new users of car. Areas of improvement Internal noise.. Gaps between doors (exterior look), If you look from outside you will find more gaps between doors and bonet. Initially the engine gives no noise. frineds asks that weather it is petro/diesel. but later it starts giving noise.

    Indigo Simply Loving It.
    Bought new Tata Indigo eCS VX CR4 in Nov 2014. So far driven the car for more than 56500 Kms without investing any amount so far in the vehicle for break down. Only the regular service at every 10000 kilometres. Robust Engine performance, no problem in any category. Before comparing it with any other car in the same segment do not forget the amount that you had spent for the car.Driven my car from Delhi to Srinagar, Delhi to Manali several times, Delhi To Chennai via Pune, Indore, Jaipur without any problem.Many colleagues said to not purchase this car as it is Taxi car for personal use but I Ignored them and bought this car. Average servicing cost is around Rs9000 for 2 Services ie Silver AMC plan for 2Yrs 20000 Kms.Suspension Is RockSolid and Smooth. Compare its Smoothness on the roughest roads you can think of even with a VW Ameo(already taken test drive) which is the costliest car of the segment but even that cant meet up the smoothness of the ride Quality and the ease with which it goes over from any potholes. Driven My Car this Year 2016 from the Nothmost state J&K To southmost state TN in the Indian Sub Continent without any problem. No Engine overheating issue even after driving for around 18hrs a day. Mileage is a no concern. Full tank costing aroung 2000 for diesel around 55 a litre will take you not less than 550 KMS in any case even if you drive at the top speed or on the roughest roads even in the city conditions.The only feature i wish to be in this car is the airbags. The best part about the car is that if in case the car gets broken down for whatsoever issue, their would be a technician in the open market who would be knowing to repair the car as it is the oldest car of the segment that it created in the market.Tata is the king in defining the segmentIndigo Ecs was the first car of sub 4 meter sedan which even the best of the car manufacturers followed.First SUV of market SAFARI., & The story continues.Compare the thickness of the steel that is used in manufacturing this car and you will realise that the Quality of it.This is the best car that you can get in the Indian market for the given amount of its segment. the features are excellent and the only negative factor is the missing airbag even in the top end variant.Servicing and the maintenance cost is cheaper than othersVW Ameo around 7500K per service every 15000KMsAmaze 10000 Kms or every 6 months costs 5000 each and so onfor Indigo 8500Rs for 20000Kms or 2 yearsFinal Verdict:Looks ***Mileage *****Maintainance *****Ride Quality *****What else you can imagine by investing around a lakh less than competitors.Top speed driven so far is more than 165km/hr. Goes easily above 140kmph.So No Complaints except the Missing Airbags.

    AROUND THREE YEARS BACK, I WANT TO PURCHASE MY FIRST EVER BRAND NEW SEDAN CAR ,KEEPING IN VIEW ITS STURDINESS(SAFETY OF MY FAMILY),COST ,MILEAGE AND COMFORT. SO, I VISITED AND TEST AND DRIVE ALMOST EVERY ENTRY LEVEL SEDAN CAR AND COLLECTED PAMPHLETS / LEAFLETS,AND MADE COMPARATIVE STATEMENT OF ITS FEATURES, PRICE ,ENGINE CAPACITY AND CURRENT OFFERS, SERVICE CENTRE ETC ETCSO I DECIDED TO PURCHASE NEW ENGINE CR4 ,INDIGO CAR-VX (TOP MODEL) ,DIESEL ENGINE SPANISH TAN COLOUR,.IT GIVES A MILEAGE OF 18KM /LITRE(AVERAGE ) IN CITY DRIVING AND 21KM/LITRE(AVERAGE ) ON HIGHWAYS WITH STABLITY AT A SPEED OF 120KMS/HOUR ON HIGHWAYS,SO BEING A 1396 CC ENGINE IT IS QUITE A HEAVY CAR,.BEING MADE IN INDIA CAR FROM THE HOUSE OF TATAS,200 YEARS OLD AND REPUTED COMPANY ,WHO MADE FIRST FIVE STAR HOTEL IN INDIA,FIRST TRUCK IN INDIA, TCS IS NO.1 IT COMPANY INDIA,, SO TATA NAME IS ENOUGH AND TATA MOTORS IS ALSO QUIET OLD COMPANY AND MAKING PASSENGERS CARS SINCE LONG,,,,,,,IF IS ALMOST 1.5-2.00 LACS CHEAPER AS COMPARED TO OTHER ENTRY LEVEL SEDAN CARS IN INDIA,, MILEAGE IS ALMOST SAME,,,BEING 1400 CC AS COMPARED TO OTHERS WHICH ARE 1200 CC ENGINE,,SO IT IS A TRUE VALUE FOR MONEY, MAKE IN INDIA AS PER MY DREAM, SO TO BUILT INDIA STRONGER ONE AND ALL HAVE TO TRUST AND ENCOURAGE MAKE IN INDIA PRODUCTS ANS SERVICES ,,, AS THERE ISNO DIVIDEND OUTGO TO FOREIGN COMPANY,,, FROFIT REMAINS IN THE HANDS OF INDIAN PROMOTERS,,,SO,IN A NUTSHELL I AM QUITE SATISFIED AND HAPPY WITH MY CHOICE AS ALMOST THREE YEARS HAVE GONE SINCE I PURCHASED INDIGO CAR ,,I HAVE NOT SPENT ANY MONEY ON IT EXCEPT DIESEL AND LUBRICANTS.DEEPAK CHOPRAMOB 09419181816JAMMU(J& K )

    Best in Budget
    I am recommend this car for people who is having driver as it might not best suits for self driving but i can say it is 100% best car for money what you have paid.It looks like Indica except for the addition of a very short looking boot which sticks out at the back.The car is might not the greatest in terms of physical appearance, but it has been designed to be very practical.Fuel Efficiency : We are gettin around 15kmpl in the city and 19kmpl on the highway which is still quite good.Value for Money : The car is very high on value for money, because essentially you are getting an entry level sedan for the price of a hatchback.
