Capture and Duster

I am planning to buy a car and budget set as 10 Lacs. However, it's extended to 17 Lakhs now. I have taken test drive of couple of cars for 1 Month and finalized Duster. Meanwhile Captur launched and attracted me. So, yesterday I have taken test drive of Capture Platine. Below is my feedback. Design: Unique and stylish, you can't find that in Market. Exteriors: Impressive- Nice use of chrome, LED lights, Day time running lights, front grills, etc. Keep in mind this is cross over. Ground clearness is good however, front bumper grill is low so try to avoid rouge roads. Otherwise it may get damage. Interiors: Quite impressive. Key less entry, effective AC, push start button, etc. But hand rest is very annoyed and very difficult to use Hand breaks. Sunroof is missing. I have noticed room for improvements and Renault should look upon this side. Comfort: Somehow, I feel not as comfortable as Duster. Even my family (wife & 2 Kids (11 & 3 Years)) didn't like that much. Back seats are little bit straight. No 60:40 Splits available. Duster is more spacious and comfortable. Driving: Honestly, after driven Duster I am not impressed with the driving capabilities. Suspension are not par as duster. Very bouncy in tough roads. Gear box in not impressive and lacking under low RPM. After Sales Support: I feel qualities wise, Renault is far ahead of Market players in this segment. At least not making fool buy wrong or underline commitments, no hidden costs Such as Maruti, they quote you something and always come with higher bills after. Might be too early to decide but for me overall, if you are looking for trendy and stylish car more for city drive then go for Capture. It's a style statement. If you love to drive and driving long. Looking for though SUV with solid build and presence on road. On the same time delivers great space, comfort and great driving experience- Duster should be the call. I am staying with this now ? I have driven Nexon, Brezza and Creta but nothing fit in my criteria. Nexon- come with good package but space and comfort is not enough. Brezza- deliver best economy in class but comfort, space, driving experience interiors are not par. Creta- overall good and balanced SUV. But no 4x4 capability, also soft toy kind of feel. No tough/ solid looks, space is lesser then Duster. More over an executive SUV and best for city drive. Final comments- There is nothing right or wrong. You are spending huge amount to buy a car and as a middle-class family you are engaged for next 10 years with that. Set yours prioritizes right, shortlist the vehicles, test drive them before taking a final call. Ensure that vehicle is delivering great value to you as per your priorities. Negotiate well with the salesman. Anyways your budget gets extended. No regret after and stay happy. Happy Driving Kanwal Jayot
