The Tata Indigo eCS which is the flagship compact sedan from the esteemed stables of Tata Motor Group has been introduced with some major cosmetic updates in the Indian car market. Also, this facelift version gets some technical updates, which makes it even better than its previous version. The company has updated all the existing variants of this compact sedan out of which Tata indigo eCS LS is the base diesel variant. Now the company claims that this facelifted Tata Indigo eCS compact sedan can produce a whopping 25 Kmpl of mileage, which is brilliant. The company has updated a total of eight models across five platforms along with the compact sedan model Tata Indigo eCS. With the launch of facelifted Tata Indigo eCS, the company will look to mark its presence in the compact sedan segment where Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire is leading with maximum sales. This facelifted compact sedan gets a new design front grille along with a new design interior cabin that makes it look plush from both inside and out. On the other side, it has been equipped with a refined CR4 diesel engine, which is further assisted by an advanced F Type gearbox that brings out enhanced performance of the engine. Apart from this, the company has incorporated a new type of suspension system that enhances the stability of this compact sedan on all form of roads. This seems to be like a step to arrest its loosing market share in the Indian auto market. It will be interesting to see how this facelifted compact sedan will deal with the likes of Swift Dzire and Honda Amaze in the Indian automobile market.

Exteriors:

One of the largest passenger car manufacturer in India, Tata Motors has done a quite a lot of changes to its flagship compact sedan. Its exterior design is refreshing with a lot of premium cues on its front facade. This Tata Indigo eCS LS is the entry level diesel trim but still it has got some changes on its decent body design. The company has blessed this compact sedan with a state-of-art exterior design that makes it look decent, which will certainly astound the customers. It gets a diamond shaped front radiator grille in chrome garnish, while the company logo has been incorporated on to it. While the design of the head lamp cluster has been changed with a new design smoked head lamp cluster turn indicators integrated on to it. Below this is the body colored bumper that has a air dam in the center, which helps in cooling the engine quickly. The side profile of this Tata Indigo eCS LS trim is very sleek and decent. The wheel arches of this entry level trim has been fitted with a 14 inch steel rims, which are further equipped with tubeless radial tyres of size 175/65 R 14, which have a superior road grip. When it comes to the rear end, this entry level trim looks decent with a revamped tail lamp cluster. This Tata Indigo eCS LS variant is a compact sedan with an overall length of 3988mm, while the height is about 1620mm and it has a total height is at 1540mm.

Interiors:

The interior design of this facelifted compact sedan Tata Indigo eCS looks plush and elegant. The company has made some major changes to the interior cabin section of this entry level trim that makes it better than its previous version. This time around, the facelifted Tata Indigo eCS LS trim gets a very stylish dual tone interior cabin along with an advanced 'OCTA' instrument cluster. On the other side, the company has incorporated an Anti Acoustic chamber to this entry level compact sedan that will not allow noise reaching inside the cabin section. This entry level compact sedan gets a stylish four spoke power steering wheel, which is very responsive. Apart from this, the inside section of this sedan gets a premium fabric upholstery, theater dimming interior lights, front power outlet, vanity mirror on co-driver's side, coin and pen holder in glove box and several other features. This company sedan comes under four meter length but there is a huge space inside that can accommodate five passengers. Its impressive wheel base of 2450mm has helped the company to create a spacious interior cabin.

Engine and Performance:

This Indian auto major has refined the engine of this premium compact sedan Tata Indigo eCS LS to make it reliable and a fuel efficient four wheeler in its class. It has been equipped with an advanced 1.4-litre, four cylinder based common rail CR4 diesel engine that has the displacement capacity of 1396cc , which is quite good. This advanced CR4 diesel engine has the ability to churn out a 68.6bhp at 4000rpm and yields 140Nm of maximum torque output at 1800 to 3000rpm. It is further mated to a five speed F-Shift (TA65 cable shift) manual transmission gearbox, which enhances the fuel efficiency, power and performance of the facelifted Tata Indigo eCS LS trim. The company claims that this new compact sedan has the ability to give away a superior mileage of 25Kmpl, which is certainly impressive.

Braking and Handling:

These significant aspects are perhaps the most important functions for any car in its segment. This facelifted Tata Indigo ECS LS trim is equipped with a technically advanced braking and handling mechanism, which the company claims to be the best in class. The front wheels of this entry level compact diesel sedan has been fitted with ventilated disc brakes and its rear wheels have been equipped with drum brakes. Handling this compact sedan is rather easy for the driver because of the very responsive power steering integrated in it. Moreover, this new Tata Indigo eCS LS entry level trim gets a superior Duo Float suspension system that will keep this sedan stable and enhance the load distribution system along the constituent elements. Its front axle has been fitted with a McPherson strut type of suspension while its rear axle has been fitted with an independent 3-link McPherson Strut type of suspension, which is further assisted by an anti-roll bar type of mechanism.

Safety Features:

There are quite a few safety features incorporated to this entry level compact sedan. Those safety aspects include central locking, LED high mounted stop lamp, collapsible steering, and child safety locks on rear doors.

Comfort Features:

This facelifted Tata Indigo ECS LS variant gets some impressive set of comfort and convenience features inside it. The company has incorporated comfort features like an air conditioner, power steering, front power windows, bottle holder on front door, adjustable front headrest, auto driver assist, remote boot and fuel lid opener, boot lamp, FR and RR cabin lights with 2 spot lights and several others.

Pros: Cabin section has been improved, mileage is good, price is attractive.
Cons: Not-so-impressive features, exteriors can be made better.

    Car For Long Travellers
    This car is for the people who are on wheels and have to travel a lot. If you are looking for comfort and cost effective car then definitely go for it. I own this car for past 4 years and am happy driving it. The fuel efficiency of this car is too good. Interior are ok type and you cannot accept too much from Tata motors. Space is quite good, can easily accommodate 5 full size grown people. Yearly maintenance cost is approx Rs 4000. Service centres are easily within your reach and you get good service from them. Overall I would give this car 3 rating. I m satisfied with the fuel efficiency and comfort of the car. This car is reliable and good for all purpose. You will enjoy this car a lot if purchased. Go for it and take a test drive. This car is really good and affordable. The boot space is awesome. The look is nice. I have driven this car a lot and I enjoy every drive in this car. go for it id you really want to have a good car with cost effectiveness and which will not be a burden in your pocket. Last time I went to Haridwar from Delhi and you will not believe that I drove to nearby tourist spots and my to and fro cost on fuel was just Rs 1000. It is so much cost effective car and so comfortable that you will really enjoy driving this car. Go get one now.

    TATA INDIGO ECS diesel:
    Exterior Very good look. but there are gaps between doors and boday. Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Nice look, good boot space... feel verymuch comfort inside. Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Good pickup..... I got this on sep 2016... . If you put on AC then you cant get that much pickup. Milage i didnt check till date. I have completed 10,000 Km till now. Ride Quality & Handling Superb handling. I like the smoothness of stering. good control over the car. I have gone up to 320km/hr on the cbe-salem highway express. Final Words Good for middle calss. good for new users of car. Areas of improvement Internal noise.. Gaps between doors (exterior look), If you look from outside you will find more gaps between doors and bonet. Initially the engine gives no noise. frineds asks that weather it is petro/diesel. but later it starts giving noise.

    Indigo Simply Loving It.
    Bought new Tata Indigo eCS VX CR4 in Nov 2014. So far driven the car for more than 56500 Kms without investing any amount so far in the vehicle for break down. Only the regular service at every 10000 kilometres. Robust Engine performance, no problem in any category. Before comparing it with any other car in the same segment do not forget the amount that you had spent for the car.Driven my car from Delhi to Srinagar, Delhi to Manali several times, Delhi To Chennai via Pune, Indore, Jaipur without any problem.Many colleagues said to not purchase this car as it is Taxi car for personal use but I Ignored them and bought this car. Average servicing cost is around Rs9000 for 2 Services ie Silver AMC plan for 2Yrs 20000 Kms.Suspension Is RockSolid and Smooth. Compare its Smoothness on the roughest roads you can think of even with a VW Ameo(already taken test drive) which is the costliest car of the segment but even that cant meet up the smoothness of the ride Quality and the ease with which it goes over from any potholes. Driven My Car this Year 2016 from the Nothmost state J&K To southmost state TN in the Indian Sub Continent without any problem. No Engine overheating issue even after driving for around 18hrs a day. Mileage is a no concern. Full tank costing aroung 2000 for diesel around 55 a litre will take you not less than 550 KMS in any case even if you drive at the top speed or on the roughest roads even in the city conditions.The only feature i wish to be in this car is the airbags. The best part about the car is that if in case the car gets broken down for whatsoever issue, their would be a technician in the open market who would be knowing to repair the car as it is the oldest car of the segment that it created in the market.Tata is the king in defining the segmentIndigo Ecs was the first car of sub 4 meter sedan which even the best of the car manufacturers followed.First SUV of market SAFARI., & The story continues.Compare the thickness of the steel that is used in manufacturing this car and you will realise that the Quality of it.This is the best car that you can get in the Indian market for the given amount of its segment. the features are excellent and the only negative factor is the missing airbag even in the top end variant.Servicing and the maintenance cost is cheaper than othersVW Ameo around 7500K per service every 15000KMsAmaze 10000 Kms or every 6 months costs 5000 each and so onfor Indigo 8500Rs for 20000Kms or 2 yearsFinal Verdict:Looks ***Mileage *****Maintainance *****Ride Quality *****What else you can imagine by investing around a lakh less than competitors.Top speed driven so far is more than 165km/hr. Goes easily above 140kmph.So No Complaints except the Missing Airbags.

    AROUND THREE YEARS BACK, I WANT TO PURCHASE MY FIRST EVER BRAND NEW SEDAN CAR ,KEEPING IN VIEW ITS STURDINESS(SAFETY OF MY FAMILY),COST ,MILEAGE AND COMFORT. SO, I VISITED AND TEST AND DRIVE ALMOST EVERY ENTRY LEVEL SEDAN CAR AND COLLECTED PAMPHLETS / LEAFLETS,AND MADE COMPARATIVE STATEMENT OF ITS FEATURES, PRICE ,ENGINE CAPACITY AND CURRENT OFFERS, SERVICE CENTRE ETC ETCSO I DECIDED TO PURCHASE NEW ENGINE CR4 ,INDIGO CAR-VX (TOP MODEL) ,DIESEL ENGINE SPANISH TAN COLOUR,.IT GIVES A MILEAGE OF 18KM /LITRE(AVERAGE ) IN CITY DRIVING AND 21KM/LITRE(AVERAGE ) ON HIGHWAYS WITH STABLITY AT A SPEED OF 120KMS/HOUR ON HIGHWAYS,SO BEING A 1396 CC ENGINE IT IS QUITE A HEAVY CAR,.BEING MADE IN INDIA CAR FROM THE HOUSE OF TATAS,200 YEARS OLD AND REPUTED COMPANY ,WHO MADE FIRST FIVE STAR HOTEL IN INDIA,FIRST TRUCK IN INDIA, TCS IS NO.1 IT COMPANY INDIA,, SO TATA NAME IS ENOUGH AND TATA MOTORS IS ALSO QUIET OLD COMPANY AND MAKING PASSENGERS CARS SINCE LONG,,,,,,,IF IS ALMOST 1.5-2.00 LACS CHEAPER AS COMPARED TO OTHER ENTRY LEVEL SEDAN CARS IN INDIA,, MILEAGE IS ALMOST SAME,,,BEING 1400 CC AS COMPARED TO OTHERS WHICH ARE 1200 CC ENGINE,,SO IT IS A TRUE VALUE FOR MONEY, MAKE IN INDIA AS PER MY DREAM, SO TO BUILT INDIA STRONGER ONE AND ALL HAVE TO TRUST AND ENCOURAGE MAKE IN INDIA PRODUCTS ANS SERVICES ,,, AS THERE ISNO DIVIDEND OUTGO TO FOREIGN COMPANY,,, FROFIT REMAINS IN THE HANDS OF INDIAN PROMOTERS,,,SO,IN A NUTSHELL I AM QUITE SATISFIED AND HAPPY WITH MY CHOICE AS ALMOST THREE YEARS HAVE GONE SINCE I PURCHASED INDIGO CAR ,,I HAVE NOT SPENT ANY MONEY ON IT EXCEPT DIESEL AND LUBRICANTS.DEEPAK CHOPRAMOB 09419181816JAMMU(J& K )

    Best in Budget
    I am recommend this car for people who is having driver as it might not best suits for self driving but i can say it is 100% best car for money what you have paid.It looks like Indica except for the addition of a very short looking boot which sticks out at the back.The car is might not the greatest in terms of physical appearance, but it has been designed to be very practical.Fuel Efficiency : We are gettin around 15kmpl in the city and 19kmpl on the highway which is still quite good.Value for Money : The car is very high on value for money, because essentially you are getting an entry level sedan for the price of a hatchback.
