Maruti Ertiga Best एमपीवी At Rs.10 lakhs On-Road

Engineering big cars is not a cup of everyone's tea. Getting it right needs a massive exercise and in the end it's all about finding the right compromise. I am talking about none other than else Maruti Ertiga which was just recently launched in India. Earlier, the car was expected to be launched at around Rs. 9-10 lakhs and would give tough competition to the likes of Mahindra Marazzo, but Maruti surprised us all by launching the car at mouth-watering price of Rs. 7.44 lakhs. I have a large family and was looking for an MPV under Rs. 10 lakhs but couldn't find any car besides Maruti Ertiga. Mahindra disappointed many people including me by launching its Marazzo MPV at a steep price of Rs. 10 lakhs while Innova Crysta was out of my reach. So, the only option remaining was Maruti Ertiga for which I was waiting for a long time and skipped many Diwali offers for that. I got booked the mid VXi variant which I think was sufficient for me as it offers enough features. At Rs. 10.37 on road I was getting plenty of style statement and tech. The car is certainly bigger and bolder than the earlier one with loads of chrome on the grille connecting projector headlights. The variant which I chose also comes with body colored door handles and electronically foldable ORVM with integrated turn indicators. The car features LED tail lamps as well rear parking sensors. Inside, there are plenty of features that meets my families basic requirements including manual air conditioner, rear ac vents, tilt adjust steering wheel, 12V charging point at both first and second row and audio system with 4-speakers and connectivity options for USB, Bluetooth and Aux. Then there is steering mounted audio controls and armrest at the second row which gives comfort on longer journeys. The boot space is adequate which can also be expanded by folding second and third row seats. In terms of safety, I got dual airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, hill hold function, central locking, ISOFIX child seat mount and speed sensitive auto door lock. I think the amount of safety features you get at this price point is truly commendable. I chose the petrol engine only for the automatic transmission which is sadly unavailable with the diesel one. The car is powered by 1.5L petrol engine with SHVS mild hybrid technology producing 105PS and 138Nm of torque, paired with 4-speed automatic torque converter gearbox.
