Maruti Suzuki is one of the oldest and best car manufacturers of India. The cars manufactured by Maruti are best in terms of pricing as well as quality. As the Maruti Alto Std has low turning radius, the car can be easily used for driving in heavy traffic. Maintenance of Alto Std is easy. The mileage of the Alto and its price are the reasons why beginners prefer this car soon after two wheelers. The Maruti Suzuki Alto has 796cc, 3-cylinder, and 4 valves per cylinder MPFI, FC engine with 32 Bit ECM incorporate in it . The Maruti Alto Std trim gives a mileage of 19.73 kmpl that is best in class.
Looking at the interior of the Maruti Alto one cannot guess its price range which has been deliberately kept low to popularize the car. Mileage of Maruti Alto Std
The Maruti Alto Standard has a 0.8 litre 796 cc in-line petrol fuel cell engine with MPFI (Multi-point fuel injection) along with a manual transmission mated to a five speed gear box which has a two wheel drive option. The engine is strong enough to give an output of 46bhp at 6,200 rpm which eventually provides an excellent mileage of 14.6 kmpl in cities. The mileage increases to 18.9 kmpl when the car is on the highways. The Alto Standard abides with the BS-IV (Bharat Stage - IV) emission norms of the country.

Maruti Suzuki Alto Std engine is capable to churn out 46bhp of output at 6200rpm for the car along with the maximum torque of 62Nm at 3000rpm . The reason behind this performance of the Alto Std is the 0.8 litre 796 cc in-line petrol fuel cell engine with MPFI (Multi-point fuel injection) along with a manual transmission mated to a five speed gear box which has a two wheel drive option. The maximum tank capacity of the Maruti Alto Std is 35 litres.
Acceleration & Pick-Up
Maruti Alto Std is a good option for those who are first time average car buyers and is also good for those who upgrade from a two wheeler to a four wheeler. The Alto Std has the ability to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 17.7 seconds . The top speed of the car with its .8 litre in-line petrol fuel cell enginecoupled with five speed manual gearbox and two wheel drive option is of 137km/hr.
Exterior and interior
The car has a stylish front bumper giving an extraordinary look to the car with attractive front grille which has been very elegant placed in between the clean lens headlights of Maruti Alto. To highlight the side profile of the car an impressive side impact beam has been given along the two doors of the car. The complete length of the car is 3,495 mm; width is 1475 mm; Height is 1460 mm and a wheelbase is of 2360 mm. the car has a ground clearance of 160 mm with a turning radius of 4.6 meter. The interior of the car is sufficient to suffice the means of a small family entry level car. The dual tone dashboard look decent and all the switches and dials are placed neatly on it. The car offers a shoulder room of 1180 cm with rear knee room of 810 cm (max) and 540 cm (min) . The leg room is spacious.
Engine and Performance
The Alto Std has an in-line engine of 0.8Litre with engine displacement of 796cc , comprising of Fuel Cell technology. The engine has three cylinders incorporated for better performance along with four valves for each cylinder. The valves have a SOHC configuration and MPFI fuel supply system. The engine churns out 46bhp at 6,200rpm and gives the maximum torque of 62Nm at 3,000rpm.
Wheels
The tyre size of the Maruti Alto Std is 145/80 R12 which is compatible with the ground clearance and the turning radius of the car. The wheel size of the 145/80 R12 tyre is 12 inch that is good enough for a better grip of the tyre on road. The tyre which is being used in the Alto is tubeless.
Braking & Handling
The front brakes of the Alto Standard are disc type which can be easily handled while driving. The rear brakes of the car are drum type. The Maruti Alto Std has an efficient braking system which makes the car handier while driving on road.
Safety
The Maruti Alto has xenon headlamps and halogen headlamps incorporated. The car also has side impact beams and also an engine check warning system is installed in the car. The car gives a low fuel warning light. The car comprises of a 20cm boosteer assisted brakes with high mount stop lamp.
Stereo & Accessories
As the car is low in cost, the accessories of the car can be bought separately but no accessory of the car comes factory made accept the air conditioner.
