Mahindra Bolero is one of the best selling economical SUV and the company has recently added a 'Special Edition' variant in its model portfolio. This Mahindra Bolero Special Edition trim comes comes with a few exciting added features. It is powered by a 2.5-litre, M2DiCR diesel power plant that can displace 2523cc. This mill is skillfully mated to a five speed manual transmission gearbox and it powers the vehicle to achieve a top speed of 125 Kmph. This motor can propel the SUV to can cross the speed barrier of 100 Kmph from a standstill in about 25.6 seconds. With a common rail based direct injection fuel supply system, it can deliver approximately 12.4 Kmpl in the city traffic, while its mileage goes up to 15.96 Kmpl on the highways. This limited edition variant is available only in a special Pearl White metallic finish option along with chequered decals. The additional features that have been included in this trim are a new masculine front bumper, ABS for enhancing the braking mechanism, beige leather seats, faux wooden insert on the dashboard, a new single DIN music system with USB port and Bluetooth connectivity. The overall dimensions of this SUV are quite standard as it comes with a minimum ground clearance of 183mm and has a roomy wheelbase of 2680mm. It has an overall length of 4107mm along with a total height of 1880mm and a width of 1745mm.

Exteriors:

The front fascia of this SUV is designed with a bold radiator grille that is fitted with a chrome plated company logo in the center. This grille is surrounded by a well lit headlight cluster, which is powered by halogen headlamps and turn indicator. The large windscreen is made of toughened glass and integrated with a pair of intermittent wipers. The updated body colored bumper is fitted with a wide air dam for cooling the powerful engine quickly. Coming to the side profile, it has body colored door handles and external rear view mirrors. There are chequered decals also on both the sides, which adds a distinct look to the sides. The wheel arches are fitted with a sturdy set of 15 inch steel wheels, which are covered with wheel caps. These steel rims are equipped with 215/75 R15 sized tubeless radial tyres. The company has also given a full size spare wheel, which is affixed on the rear door with a body colored cover on it. The rear end of this utility vehicle is fitted with a bright taillight cluster, a windshield with wash and wipe function and a body colored bumper .

Interiors:

The internal cabin of this Mahindra Bolero Special Edition variant is incorporated with a newly designed leather upholstered seats that provide enough leg space for all the occupants. It also has a driver information system, which is equipped with a tachometer, digital clock, electronic tripmeter, digital odometer, door ajar warning and driver seatbelt reminder notification. The wood finish dashboard is equipped with AC vents , a big glove box and a multi information display. It has a responsive power assisted steering wheel with tilt adjustable function and wood finish center console. The car manufacturer has given it some practical features that includes, front seat back pockets, cup and bottle holders, map pockets and utility space in front doors, a big glove box, where we can keep a few smaller things at hand, a 12V accessory outlet for charging mobile and other electronic devices and center armrest on second row seats. Apart from these, this variant is also bestowed with remote fuel lid opener, keyless entry and wood finished dashboard.

Engine and Performance:

This sports utility vehicle is blessed with a 2.5-litre diesel motor with a micro hybrid system and it comes with a displacement capacity of 2523cc . This power plant is integrated with four cylinders and eight valves. It is skillfully coupled with a five speed manual transmission gear box, which distributes the engine power to its front wheels. This diesel mill has the ability to churn out a maximum power output of 62.08bhp at 3200rpm in combination with 195Nm between 1400 to 2200rpm. With the help of common rail direct injection fuel supply system, it can deliver a decent fuel economy of about 15.96 Kmpl.

Braking and Handling:

The braking mechanism of this Mahindra Bolero Special Edition trim is augmented by anti lock braking system. The front wheels are fitted with disc brakes, while the rear gets a set of drum brakes. On the other hand, the front axle is assembled with an independent suspension with coil springs and anti roll bar, whereas the rear axle is equipped with an elliptical leaf springs type of mechanism. The company has given it a responsive power assisted steering wheel, which is tilt adjustable and makes the handling convenient.

The company has given this limited edition quite a few sophisticated features for the convenience of the occupants. It has an advanced single DIN music system, which has USB port, CD and MP3 player along with Bluetooth connectivity and voice massaging system .
