India's second largest automobile company, Hyundai India has officially launched the compact sedan, Hyundai Xcent in the car bazaar. The company has introduced this new vehicle in many trim levels among which, Hyundai Xcent 1.1 CRDi SX Option is the high end diesel variant. It comes with a 1.1-litre U2 diesel power plant that is coupled with a 5-speed manual transmission gearbox. The company has borrowed this engine from the Grand i10 hatchback and slightly tuned it to improve its power and torque output. This trim is available with an optional package, which includes an advanced anti lock braking system and a set of 15 inch Diamond Cut alloy wheels. The designers at the company have worked very hard in order to give it a modernistic look. It comes with stylish interiors and is equipped with several top rated features. This top end variant comes with a push button engine start/stop function, air conditioning system with fully automatic climate control, rear parking camera with display on electro chromic mirror, an advanced 2-DIN music player with 1GB internal memory and many other advanced features. The company is offering this compact sedan in a total of six exterior paint options, which are Phantom Black, Pristine Blue, Red Passion, Sleek Silver, Twilight Blue and Pure White.

Exteriors:

This newly introduced compact sedan has an eccentric body design that can attract the young generation car buyers. It is based on the Grand i10 design platform, which makes it look quite identical to the hatchback. There is an extensive use of chrome on its exteriors, especially on its front and rear. On its frontage, the upper grille is fitted with a horizontally positioned strip, while the lower grille gets a thick chrome surround. The headlight cluster looks bold, edgy and has been equipped with powerful halogen lamps. In addition to these, the bumper comes with a pair of round shaped fog lights, which improves the visibility. The side profile is sleek and this variant comes with chrome door handles, body colored ORVMs and black waistline molding. The wheel arches are equipped with a set of 15-inch diamond cut alloy wheels . The rear profile of this sedan is quite unique and it is beautifully decorated with a wraparound design taillight cluster. It surrounds the boot lid that is decorated with a thick chrome strip along with a company logo and variant badging. Just below this, there is a body colored bumper, which is fitted with a pair of reflectors and protective cladding.

Interiors:

The insides of this compact sedan has been done up with good quality plastic. It comes with beige and black color scheme and it is further complimented by Blue Illumination. The seats in the front are newly designed and integrated with headrests. They have been covered with beige and black colored fabric upholstery. The dashboard is elegantly designed and it is incorporated with an advanced central console featuring an AC unit, a multi-information display, an advanced music system and other control functions. The cockpit features an advanced instrument cluster that has a gear shift indicator, door and trunk lid ajar warning, low fuel indicator and driver seatbelt notification. Above all these, the manufacturer has blessed this trim with an advanced 2-DIN music player with integrated Radio, CD/MP3 player, which supports USB, AUX-In and Bluetooth connectivity . In addition to this, the steering wheel has been given audio and Bluetooth call control buttons.

Engine and Performance:

This trim comes fitted with a second generation 1.1-litre diesel power plant with common rail direct injection system. This engine is designed with 3-cylinders, 12 valves and a total displacement capacity of 1120cc . It can generate a maximum power of 71Bhp at 4000rpm, while producing a peak torque output of about 180Nm between 1750 to 2500rpm. The company has coupled this refined engine with a 5-speed manual transmission gearbox that sends the torque output to the front wheels and returns a decent mileage of 24.4 Kmpl.

Braking and Handling:

The front axle of this compact sedan is fitted with McPherson Strut type of suspension , while rear axle comes equipped with torsion beam axle type of a system. This suspension system gets further assistance from gas filled shock absorbers that helps the vehicle to tackle with jerks caused on the roads. Its front wheels have been fitted with disc brakes and the rear ones have been assembled with drum brakes. As part of the optional package, this vehicle comes with anti lock braking system, which will further improve the disc and drum braking mechanism. In addition to all these, the company has incorporated a motor driven electric power steering system, which is very responsive.

Comfort Features:

This Hyundai Xcent 1.1 CRDi SX Option is the top end variant in its model series and it comes with a unique set of comfort features. It is incorporated with an automatic air conditioning system with climate control and rear air conditioner vents. In addition to these, the company is offering other utility based aspects like a cooling glove box unit, a motor driven electric power steering system, front and rear power windows with driver side auto down function, accessory power outlets, power foldable and adjustable external mirrors and other advanced features. This variant also comes with utility based features including a luggage lamp, passenger side vanity mirror, a tilt steering column, driver seat height adjustment option, an engine start/stop button, map pockets, cup holders and a few other such features.

Safety Features:

This top end variant is blessed with innovative safety aspects that provides protection to the passengers and the vehicle as well. The list includes a central locking system, a pair of front fog lamps, an engine immobilizer system, an electro chromic interior rear view mirror with display for rear view camera , reverse parking sensors, smart key less entry, a rear defogger and other advanced features. Apart from these, the manufacturer is also offering driver and passenger air bags along with an anti lock braking system for enhanced safety.
