Tata Tiago My Test Drive and Ownership Experience

For a company like Tata, the Tiago has been quite a well long-term performer so far. Past few years Tata has been on an offensive in terms of new car launches. Tiago is one of them which have garnered a lot of praises for its looks, features and affordable price tag. Our garage had two workhorses; the Scorpio and Hyundai Eon but I wanted to bid adieu to the Eon and purchase a new alternative irrespective of a little higher price tag. I was also considering Swift but the price was a little high. I got a phone call from my friend who was also in a similar dilemma of purchasing a new car. He said why not take a test drive of Tiago? So together we left for the dealership and after the initial inquiry, I sat on the driver seat and my friend on the passenger one. I was really taken aback by the quality interiors of the car. The upmarket dashboard and how nicely the center console was laid were truly commendable. The touch and feel was quite nice including on the knobs and switches. I slowly started off and took about 5 minutes to get used to the steering, acceleration and braking before pushing the limits. The clutch felt nice, so the suspension setup by the help of which the car glided over potholes with ease. So, finally after 10-15 minutes of playing with the vehicle, I decided that this is the car which I need. The top model XZ was just costing me slightly above Rs. 6.50 lakhs on road, which was fitting perfectly in my budget. So far, I have noticed that Tiago has been one of the better city cars and especially for daily commuters. Fortunately, after the purchase, I came to know that the petrol engine is a little jerky, so I thanked God for going with the diesel version, which was excellent on fuel efficiency as well. So Tata has really crested the quality curve and Tiago is a sheer example of it. It comes with nice exteriors, feature loaded, offers supple ride quality and top of it, will not cost you fortunes.
