A car that puts smile on your face (Tia गो revotron xz)

Indian car market is dominated by small/hatch segment. We have a new entry in this segment from Tata. Yes it is new Tata Tiago. In recent times Indian customers have evolved with their choices for cars so have the cars coming to India. That is why it looks like Tata is also trying to shed, Indica's, skin and present its customers with something fresh like Tiago. Tiago competes with popular Hyundai i10, Maruti Suzuki WagonR, Celerio and Ford Figo. It has been more than a decade WagonR has its roots deep in Indian Market with hardly any modifications in original launch. Similar is the case i10 but carrying major changes in its looks. New Figo has totally failed to impress the buyers. Let's know more about the new Tiago. Exteriors: It appears like Tata has employed entirely new team to design the Tiago. You get constant reminder of Indica when you look at Tata's recent launches Zest and Bolt. But when you look at Tiago, one cannot believe that it is actually carrying the Tata's logo. New design is certainly fresh. All car makers are following the trend of hexagonal front grill while Tata has carried its signature smile curved grill which gives a pleasant feeling when one looks at the car. Small bulge shoulder line is carried till the tail lamp which does not spoil the looks rather the sharp snout makes the car look more aggressive. Tata has added cuts on lower part of doors which do not look like somebody has dashed the car from sides. Similar cuts are seen all its competitors but just beautify the lateral looks. Hyundai i10 has unnecessarily added black guards in its doors. In past Tata provided all their cars right from Indica to Aria with long ugly tail lamps. With Tiago they have broken the trend and included small balanced tail lamps. But it looks much like i10 grand. Overall, a small hatch Tiago neither follow traditional box like nor modern fluidic design, still it has got looks which will attract every eye. Interiors: Cabin of Tiago offers all accessory functions like touch screen, steering mounted controls etc like are available these days in every cars so there is nothing to be mentioned specially about. One it has remarkably improved than Tata's earlier cars and are comparable to its competitors. Dashboard is well designed and gives plenty of visibility. Also it provides all features like dual airbags, tilt steering, power windows etc. that is seen in all cars. There is one plus point where Tiago scores is the seating comfort. Tiago is not only spacious from inside but better headroom and rear independent suspension make ride more pleasurable. Boot space is also enough for a family of four. Engine and overall ride quality: First thing one will notice about the Tiago is that it does not feel like any cab. It has got powerful 1.2 liters revotron engine. The engine breaths more than any other car in same segment. It delivers more torque even at lower rpms which helps drive less irritating at rush hours in cities. Above all Tiago offers highest mileage in class. Verdict: If offered features are considered Tiago, Figo and i10 grand score almost equal. Then why one should go for Tiago? Tiago is almost Rs 50000 cheaper than other cars. Plus it has got better handling, better mileage, better looks. For budget of 5.5 lakhs, Tiago top end version is best option. Buyers who has got flexible budget, can look for entry level sedans like Dzire, Amaze, Zest etc. But Tiago is a complete hatch with all features with least price. I think Tata deserves buyers trust this time
