Let me just clarify, I am not planning to buy the redi-GO. I have been following this car ever since its debut a couple of months ago, just like the fact that they kept the overall design similar to the concept from the 2014 Indian Auto Expo. The car's clever packaging and design intrigued me. Even Datsun has offered the daytime running LEDs just like the concept had. Although, I have heard that they are not as bright as DRLs are supposed to be. Except the Kwid and the Eon, its chief competitor - Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 doesn't stand a chance when it comes to the road presence and overall design. Datsun has priced the base variant of the redi-GO at nearly 15K less than the Kwid and the top-end is nearly 40K cheaper than the Renault's. It feels like the redi-GO is built to the price. If you look at the Alto 800 or even the Eon -- none of them offer a Bluetooth connectivity. It just gets the Aux-in and USB. The Alto 800 doesn't?t even offer a CD player if that counts. The Alto 800 also doesn't?t even offer tachometer in any of its variants, while redi-GO offers a digital one - not even the Kwid has it. Speaking of the space, the redi-GO offers more real estate than what little Maruti has to offer including a considerably larger boot as well. Despite having more power and torque, the Datsun has trumped the 2016 Alto 800 when it comes to fuel efficiency with 25.17 km/l certified mileage. All in all, I find it the best VFM (Value-for-Money) car in this segment. Seems like Renault-Nissan will not lose their customers who find the Kwid slightly costlier, now they have a similar product at a competitive pricing.
