Datsun Redi गो The Best Car Datsun Has Launched

New brands always suffer especially when you are foraying into the fierce competitive markets like India. Datsun, the Japanese car brand resurrected by Nissan saw the light of the day in the country with the motive of invading the 'affordable' league of customers. It has launched several products till date including GO hatchback and GO Plus MPV but the only product that stood the test of times was the redi-GO small hatchback. The design is so striking for the price that it instantly grabs attention. When I was planning to buy a car 3 years back, Datsun redi-GO was just launched at that time. So it was easier for me to pick up the trending car at that time. I also test drove the Hyundai Eon but design of the car appears to have been outdated. So the only fresh product in my hand that time was the Datsun redi-GO and Renault Kwid. Since I didn't like the design of the Renault Kwid, it was out of my list. So, the only option remaining was redi-GO. I saw the potential of the car during the test drive and how swiftly it moves through the traffic and handles corners. The car has been crafted on the same CMF platform on which Kwid has been built but there is difference in design. I particularly liked the front face that features large hexagonal grille with chrome highlights and wraparound headlamps. The cute rear profile is opposite to the aggressive rear with chrome lip on the boot and boomerang shaped tail lights which definitely looks urbane. Interiors are basic as you can't expect luxury in a 3 lakh car. The first time buyers would certainly appreciate the performance, especially the mileage which is above 18-20kmpl in mix driving conditions. The power comes from the 0.8L engine which produces 53bhp which is a little underpowered to my opinion. But there is nothing to worry as last year Datsun launched the powerful 1.0L engine which develops 67bhp. Also, now there is an option of AMT gearbox along besides usual 5-speed manual transmission. I personally feel in terms of swiftness, the manual transmission is perfect but if you really want to go clutchless the AMT one isn't bad either. The strongest point of the car is its pricing at which you will not get such a radical design and a small city runabout. Datsun has really unleashed a rabbit out of the hat. I will definitely recommend going with this car.
