निसान माइक्रा 2018 मॉडल आईएस now अधिक Safe and Sophisticated
Recently, my friend asked me about the latest hatchbacks in the market as he was looking out for one for his family. As an automobile enthusiast, the onus of giving the best options out there was on my shoulders. Maruti Swift is undoubtedly the first choice of any person looking for a hatchback for Rs. 6-8 lakh price bracket. But I have to give other options so that my friend can pick up the best according to his liking. Hyundai Elite i20 and Baleno were altogether in the different price league, so they were out of my options. Ford Figo was also a good choice but since the present version was soon to be replaced by a newer one, it was out of my list as well. The only car remaining was the Nissan Micra which was just launched with a whole bunch of features.
I told my friend that Nissan Micra has been recently launched with updated features and it is now capable to stand against Swift. He instantly agreed and we went to confirm the same at the nearby Nissan dealership. The car though gets mild aesthetic updates, but these minor tweaking has enhanced the overall character of the car. On the exterior front, the car gets turn indicators integrated into the ORVM and new rear spoiler. The remaining part of the exterior has been kept intact. However, the center of the highlight is the new 6.2 touchscreen infotainment unit with navigation facility. The infotainment also supports phone mirroring that eases your job of synchronization.
Another highlight of the updated model is the dual front airbags, speed warning indicator and rear parking sensors which come as standard fitment. Most importantly, Nissan offers safety tech that no other car in the segment offer. It comes with traffic sign recognition, intelligent lane intervention, intelligent emergency braking and blind spot warning. Additionally, the car also gets a rear view camera to ease parking woes. To cut through the tight noose competition, the Japanese carmaker has loaded the car with features like electrically adjustable ORVMs, push engine start/stop button and automatic headlamps.
As far as performance goes, for a typical Indian buyer, it won't matter much except the mileage. And this is pretty much satisfactory as petrol and diesel returns 19kmpl and 23kmpl respectively. So I think Nissan Micra despite the advent of new players is still not out of the competition. The new model will be sufficient to cement its position in the market until and unless the next generation model comes to the scene next year.
