The Discovery Sport SUV from JLR India is the latest entrant in the country's automobile market. It is available in a few variants of which, Land Rover Discovery Sport TD4 SE is a mid range trim. It is powered by a 2.2-litre TD4 diesel mill that has 2179cc displacement capacity. This is mated with a 9-speed automatic transmission gear box and generates 147.5bhp power and 400Nm torque. Moving to its features list, it is incorporated with various comfort aspects such as two zone climate control, music system with a touchscreen display, well cushioned seats with folding function in the rear, cruise control and many others. Look wise, its is simply amazing with a bold radiator grille at front and stylish alloy wheels on the sides. Whereas, the rear end is highlighted by radiant tail lamps and company's badge. Safety is best ensured in this, which is loaded with ABS, EBD, dynamic stability control, seven airbags, child locks, audible seat belt warning, dual tone horn, reversing lamps and many more.

Exteriors:

What lures most of its buyers is their sporty exteriors, which is extraordinarily designed and equipped with remarkable aspects. At the front, there is an aggressive radiator grille featuring two slats with chrome finish. This is surrounded by a radiant headlight cluster that is integrated with xenon headlamps and turn indicators. Moreover, the LED daytime running lights further adds to its style. The windscreen is pretty large and equipped with a pair of rain sensing wipers. The bonnet looks decent with a few visible character lines over it. The common rail fuel injection system is integrated to it. This can return a mileage of about 12.83 Kmpl on the highways and 8.9 Kmpl within the city. A 9-speed automatic transmission box is paired with the motor, which transmits engine power to all its wheels. It can belt out a peak power of 147.5bhp at 4000rpm along with torque of 400Nm at 1750rpm. This can attain a top speed of approximately 180 Kmph and break the speed limit of 100 Kmph in nearly 10.3 seconds.

Braking and Handling:

The braking system is quite reliable wherein, both its front and rear wheels are equipped with a sturdy set of disc brakes. It is further assisted by anti lock braking system along with electronic brake force distribution. In terms of suspension, a McPherson strut is affixed on the front axle, whereas the rear one gets an integral coil spring. This makes the drive smooth and free from jerks no matter how the road conditions are. On the other hand, it comes with an electric power assisted steering system that aids in vehicle's handling even in heavy traffic conditions.
