Great Car.

I'm reviewing the Volkswagen polo 1.2l petrol. The best thing about this car is its steering, build quality and safety. In terms of steering, it has a somewhat stiff steering wheel which offers really good feedback and its really precise. But this is not the car you want to push around corners. Because of its soft suspension setup, it offers a tonne of body roll on offer and talking about its suspension, it is comfortable and plush but won't give that red carpet ride quality. When we take this car in potholes it would literally just makes you go from side to side like anything. Its somewhat uncomfortable but it has its own plus points like big potholes would be well contained. And another thing about this car is its soft suspension and low ground clearance, its likely to scratch its bottom at times. But when cruising on the highways, at higher speeds, this car doesn't seem glued to the road instead it keeps on bouncing due to the soft suspension on offer. But the ride quality is appreciable. Talking about the engine, the 1.2l 3 cylinder petrol engine doesn't have a low range at all. It doesn't show its aggression till it passes 4000 RPM from where we can feel some amount of pull that we'd expect. It gets off if we don't use to its clutch and accelerator balance which makes it quite uncomfortable to move this car in bumper to bumper traffic. And with 5 people on board, steeply slopes can only be made possible in 1st gear. It is not fuel-efficient plus the powerband is placed far away from the normally usable RPM range. So if we're hard on the accelerator, trust me you'll burn petrol like anything. Its mid-range is mild and we pick up the power from its top range. Because of its a 3 cylinder engine, it is not much smooth like its competitors with 4 cylinder engine. It does also vibrates more than the other same segment vehicles. So the engine performance is just above average from this car and talking about the clutch and gearbox, this car's clutch isn't light as what we do expect from a hatchback. And also it'd take time to get accustomed with its clutch configuration. The gearbox is really good. The gearshift is slick and accurate. Gears are well-calibrated and it's really nice. So the gearbox is really good in this car. Then about the build quality, it feels really premium. The interior is really plush and sturdy. The hard plastics and the materials offered in the interior are really good, And to be honest, you can feel the build quality of this car by closing the door and that bassy thud sound proves it and the car chassis are built like a rock. It's solid and strong. It won't provide much modern safety features like its competitors but being inside a Volkswagen itself is safer than the same segment vehicles. So in terms of build quality and safety, this car is really good. So the final verdict about the Polo petrol 1.2l  my personal opinion is not to go for this petrol engine from Volkswagen polo instead, the Diesel engine offers a real punchy performance. Its cons are its engine and body roll. And also this car is a petrol drunkard and it costs too much for the maintenance of this car. Its cons are its steering, gearbox, safety and build quality. So if you want a Volkswagen, you better opt for its diesel version.
