होंडा अमेज इंजन Specification

The 1.5-litre, i-DTEC Earth Dreams engine that does duty in the recently launched Honda Amaze has been developed by Honda specifically for the Indian subcontinent. This engine has been built off the 1.6-litre i-DTEC engine that is used in the European version of Honda cars, along with many modifications to make it more suitable to the Asian environment. This new engine has been developed by incorporating an all-aluminium open-deck for the die cast engine block that is not only compact but is also lighter. The crankshaft has also been treated with nitrous making it lighter yet giving it more tensile strength. Apart from the crankshafts, the pistons and connecting rods too have been developed to be light-weight; the pistons have the smallest skirt areas in the segment. The combustion system too has undergone modifications, to make it environment friendly and maximise on fuel efficiency. Additionally, the cooling system is ultra-efficient along with a specially developed low viscosity engine oil that helps lubricate the engine and reduce friction. All in all, the new 1.5-litre, i-DTEC Earth Dreams engine is claimed by Honda to be the lightest in its torque performance class, while mechanical friction has been toned down to the same level as a 1.5-litre petrol engine and cooling energy losses have been minimised as well.
