Tata Harrier

Tata Harrier has been one of the most awaited SUVs of the year. The car was launched in the Indian car market on 23rd January 2019. After the launch of Tiago and Nexon, Tata is all prepared with the Tata Harrier. The car was first revealed as the H5X Concept at the Auto Expo 2018. I have been looking forward to its launch as I am quite impressed with the overall appearance of the vehicle. The likeness for the SUV can be seen as the company states that in just the matter of 10 days about 420 units of the vehicle have been booked. Tata Harrier competes against the already successful Hyundai Creta, Mahindra XUV500 and Jeep Compass in the segment. The company introduced the Harrier after years of research and development, which clearly shows how hard the company has worked to get all the right things ticked. Tata Harrier is based on the OMEGA platform that makes the SUV be the first car based on it. On the outside, Tata Harrier features the latest aesthetic philosophy-Impact design 2.0. The headlamps are placed on the bumper while the LED DRLs are placed on the top. Side profile seems a bit larger as it rides on the 17-inch five spoke alloy wheels. At the back, tail lamps feature organic design and are embedded in the gloss black layout. The rear bumper has silver garnish with some edgy bits. Stepping inside, the first thing that strikes you is the spacious cabin. There is a good mix of leather, silver, wooden panels and gloss black that makes the car looks quite contemporary. In terms of techs, Tata Harrier gets 8.8-inch infotainment unit that supports Android Auto. The car also gets a nine-speaker music system from JBL. Other features included are cruise control, keyless entry, push engine start/stop button, rear parking camera and voice recognition & alerts. For the safety, Tata Harrier is loaded with features like 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, traction control and corner stability control among others. Tata Harrier is powered by the Kryotec, 2.0L engine that generates the power output of 138bhp and yields the maximum torque of 350Nm. The mill comes mated to 6-speed manual gearbox. Priced in the range of Rs. 12-16 lakh, I think it has been crafted to segments where Hyundai Creta and Jeep Compass fall in. The SUV gives the best of both these segments and I think it's one of the best-planned vehicles From Tata in recent times.
