Maruti Ignis was launched back in the year 2017 in a bid to give something extraordinary to the people who love to own a fun-to-drive jazzy car. The vehicle has been successfully running in this country, though not as popular as other siblings in the hatchback category. Now, the carmaker has re-launched Ignis with minor updates. There are no style tweaks at the exterior except the carmaker offering roof rails as standard fitment across the variants. The majority of changes are in the safety department where the car gets reverse parking sensors, side seatbelt reminder, and speed alert system. The additional safety features were much needed not only from the outlook of growing safety concern but also to keep up with the competition. Rest, the car continues to offer the same features in the form of touchscreen Smartplay infotainment system powered by Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, push engine start/stop button, auto AC, electrically adjustable ORVM, driver seat height adjuster and 60:40 rear split among others. The car will be housing the same mechanicals as before in the form of 1.2-liter petrol motor that produces 83PS and 113Nm of max torque, mated to either 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT gearbox. The unique selling point of this car is its radical SUV design with unique proportions, expressive wheel arches with cladding, broad shoulders, and distinct grille and might wheels. All this go in line with the millennial who want to astonish onlookers on the move. The latest version will continue to be sold via Nexa dealerships created for premium cars in the portfolio. I am really looking forward to buying Ignis as I have driven it before when I went to my uncle's house in Pune last year. The performance of this car is absolutely bliss and pottering around the town is like a breeze. I hope the new changes will boost the overall popularity of the car in the future.
