A good city car

The Celerio is a nice city car and AMT variant is effortless to drive. Its AMT has been designed to deliver a good mileage. The AMT seems very precise and intelligent too. Despite its light weight, it cruises very stably on highways, but its weight contributes to its mediocre ride handling. Talking about the the engine, it's punchy. From 1st to 3rd gear acceleration is very good after that it starts showing sign of sluggishness but still manages very well. I am able to take out 13-14 kmpl in city with AC on and on highways, it is 18-19 kmpl with AC on. If we compare the values with ARAI claimed mileage of around 23 kmpl, its a bit disappointing. These values are based on my drive of around 1800 kms. Probably, it may increase by 1 kmpl after 3000 kmpl, as its under run in period.Talking about controls, they are easy to approach. Bluetooth telephony voice comes out to be crisp and clear to the receiver at the other end. Suspension setup is also well tuned for the Indian roads. Its broad tyre really adds up to its smooth drive. Overall, it's a good package, but Maruti should add up some more weight to it without compromising fuel efficiency as it feels lighter if we go to its driving dynamics.
