A-Class A200 D Sport Edition रिव्यू
A-Class is the premium hatchback model, which has now received a facelift. And this, brings with it some modifications to its exteriors and features list as well. The company has now adopted a new nomenclature for its diesel trim, which is the code “d.” This Mercedes-Benz A-Class A200 D Sport variant is added with revamped set of alloy wheels on sides and LED brake lights in the rear. However, LED headlamps are offered as optional. The new “Elbaite Green” color is also added in the already existing body paint options. Inside the cabin, a new three spoke design steering wheel is available, while the color theme is also revamped. Seat cushion depth is now increased and the audio unit gets an 8-inch display screen. Moreover, Mercedes-Benz apps are also introduced through which, users can get access to different services. The technical specifications remain the same, which include a 2.2-litre oil burner that is paired with a seven speed automatic transmission gear box.
Exteriors:
This hatch does looks great with the new modifications made to its exteriors. At front, there is an impressive radiator grille with chrome plating. On either sides, there are bright bi-xenon headlamps integrated along with turn indicators and LED day time running lights. The bumper is revamped and fitted with a wide air intake section as well as air ducts. The windscreen comes with a pair of intermittent wipers, while the bonnet is in plain design. On the sides, the latest changes are limited only to its wheels. These 5-twin spoke light alloys are now restyled and covered with radial tubeless tyres of size 205/55 R16. Also, there are door handles in body color, black B-pillars and external mirrors with side turn indicators. Coming to its rear end, it has a tweaked bumper in body color and newly integrated exhaust pipes. The tail light cluster is updated with LED brake lights. Besides these, it also includes a stylish boot lid with company's emblem, windscreen with defogger and a sporty spoiler.
Interiors:
Inside the cabin, the changes are very few. The color scheme looks more pleasant, whereas the wood accentuation and ambient lighting adds elegance to it. On the dashboard, it gets a newly designed three spoke steering wheel with audio controls mounted on it. The center console carries an updated infotainment system, while a sophisticated AC unit is also available. Other elements it houses include air vents, glove box and an instrument panel. In terms of seating, they are ergonomically designed and these provide enhanced comfort than before. Memory function is available to driver's seat, which is also electrically adjustable. These are covered with premium leather upholstery. Not just these, but the door panels too get leather inserts. In addition to these, it also has rear center armrest with cup holder, assist grips, folding rear seat back rest, and some storage spaces as well.
Engine and Performance:
It has a 2.2-litre diesel engine under the hood with displacement capacity of 2143cc. This is based on a double overhead camshaft valve configuration and carries four cylinders with sixteen valves. It has a turbocharger with variable nozzle turbine. A common rail based direct fuel injection system is integrated to it, which helps in returning a decent fuel economy. The maximum it can give on the bigger roads is around 20.06 Kmpl. This can churn out a peak power of 136bhp in the range of 3600 to 4400rpm and yields torque of 300Nm between 1600 to 3000rpm. A 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission gearbox is paired to it, which further boosts its performance. This can accelerate from 0 to 100 Kmph in nearly 10.6 seconds and attains a top speed of 210 Kmph.
Braking and Handling:
This trim has a proficient suspension system that aids in better stability and drive comfort. Its front axle is assembled with a McPherson strut and the rear one gets a four-link system. In terms of braking, there are internally vented discs on front wheels and solid discs are used for the rear ones. This is further accompanied by ABS with EBD and brake assist as well for improving its mechanism further. Handling is best ensured by a rack and pinion based steering column. It has tilt adjustment function and steer control assist system also.
Comfort Features:
A number of practical elements are loaded in this trim that makes the drive enjoyable. It includes an air conditioner with dust filer and has rear AC vents as well. There is a 20 CD multimedia system with 14.7cm TFT color display screen. This unit supports Bluetooth connectivity and Aux-In options. Moreover, the company has offered it with Mercedes-Benz Apps that allow to use an array of services and other apps over the internet. It has all four power windows with one touch control and obstruction sensors. Also there is a reversing camera with dynamic guidelines, which provides assistance at the time of parking.
Safety Features:
The list of security attributes in this lineup include crash responsive emergency braking, electronic stability program, hill start assist function, and anti lock braking system as well. Besides these, it also has multiple airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchorage with fastening points, attention assist function, active restraint system and a few other such elements.
